Irony-poor blood

I’m glad I don’t have it, or I might be wearing another expression besides the wry smile currently gracing my mug.  In another amazing karmic circle, the same week that I start this blog, KBOA pulls the plug on "Your Pet’s Best Friend".  No more 4-minute show for 30-second rates. No more 4-minute spots period, apparently.  Well, it was a sweet deal for twenty years, and I can’t complain about that.  KOTC and KXOQ are still carrying the show.  Looks like the next step for those little talks will be pod-casting.

It will be a few days before I can get to work on the pod-casting thing, though.  After my Thursday half-day at the clinic (I usually spend Thursday afternoon catching up on paperwork and running errands), I’m off to Pine Ridge Scout Camp through Sunday.  This will be my third year to help on the staff of a Wood Badge training course for adult Scout leaders.  I went through the course as a participant in May of 2000, and it was really a big help when I was Scoutmaster of Troop 272 (sponsored by Kiwanis).  Boys grow up and dads and moms move on.  New boys join Scouting and they all deserve a trained leader.  New unit leaders couldn’t get trained if nobody would help train them, so I’m off to camp this weekend.

"On my honor, I’ll do my best…"
