Last Saturday the Sons of the Western Bootheel (including me) sang a few cowboy songs.  We were the dinner music after the trail ride was over.  The Senath Lions Club and the Dunklin County 4-H club hosted a Saddle Up and Ride for St.Jude fund-raiser.  It was hosted by my brother Will and his family at their home.

Hpim0462_2 Folks brought in their pledges and donations when they trailered in for the ride.  Here are the rigs parked in the south pasture.

Hpim0465_2 There was a lot of good barbecue after the ride, and a lot of good conversation (in addition to the good music, of course).

Hpim0461_2 There was horse-shoe pitching, knife and tomahawk throwing, and the rope-spinning and whip-cracking you see here.

For a few more pictures you can check out the Flickr set.

A good time was had by all, and around $1,500.00 was raised for St. Jude’s.  Mighty fine.
