Last Saturday the Sons of the Western Bootheel (including me) sang a few cowboy songs. We were the dinner music after the trail ride was over. The Senath Lions Club and the Dunklin County 4-H club hosted a Saddle Up and Ride for St.Jude fund-raiser. It was hosted by my brother Will and his family at their home.
Folks brought in their pledges and donations when they trailered in for the ride. Here are the rigs parked in the south pasture.
There was a lot of good barbecue after the ride, and a lot of good conversation (in addition to the good music, of course).
There was horse-shoe pitching, knife and tomahawk throwing, and the rope-spinning and whip-cracking you see here.
For a few more pictures you can check out the Flickr set.
A good time was had by all, and around $1,500.00 was raised for St. Jude’s. Mighty fine.
