Terrific Day for Scouting

There was a heavy fog as I left Kennett this morning at seven.  Amazingly, after the late night last night, I rolled out at 0630 with no problem.  I feared I might be behind schedule anyway, as the heavy fog precluded much speed between Kennett and Hayti.  It was an odd juxtaposition of having the morning sun in my eyes, yet at times being unable to see more than two car-lengths in front of me.  Fortunately, as I headed north on I-55, things cleared off nicely.  While I had packed a couple of extra pullovers, the day was actually a trifle warm with just my old Philmont T-shirt and convertible (to shorts) pants.  This bunch of Scouters had a higher percentage of guys wearing quick-drying zip-leg pants than you’d see anywhere else.  It was recertification day for the Challenge Course folks.Monkey_swings_2

Weather was great, training was fun, driving was easy (construction shut down for Sunday).  When everything goes well, it makes for a short story.  Remind me to tell you the story of my wedding… the LONG story.
