Buddy went home under his own power today. He’s still got a headache, and a little congestion in his left lung, but it looks like he’s going to be okay. As often happens, when we make a mistake, we look for somebody else to blame. [I spilled my hot coffee, so I’ll sue McDonald’s.] Buddy’s […]

Here’s "Buddy". He’s a house dog… most of the time. Tonight he went out with Mama and no leash. He decided to play that super fun game: "You can’t catch me". Like most dogs, he failed to check the playing field for cars. So, I’ve been here for about three hours. His biggest problem is […]
Last Saturday the Sons of the Western Bootheel (including me) sang a few cowboy songs. We were the dinner music after the trail ride was over. The Senath Lions Club and the Dunklin County 4-H club hosted a Saddle Up and Ride for St.Jude fund-raiser. It was hosted by my brother Will and his family […]
I don’t have a company link for this one, but a Consumer Affairs website has the story on "Nutra Nuggets". They were consumed in California, but apparently were manufactured back in old Missouri. I’m so proud.
Many times we hear the plea, "You’ve gotta fix him, Doc." Man, only God can make a tree, and only the body does the actual healing. If things are pretty torn up, some surgery can speed up the healing by putting those pieces back next to each other where they belong. That won’t make them […]
I put this under ear problems because today these nasty little seeds were an ear problem. Some people call them "wild oats" (not the kind you wish you had sown, either). They are the little grass seeds from grasses that look sort of like stalks of wheat. In our part of the country, these are […]
I’ve had a lot going on in the last couple of weeks, and I do hope to soon get around to posting it. I’m not going to just bail like my friend Dan Landrum. After no posts for months, he just posted a list of all the things he was going to post (but didn’t). […]
I keep thinking people are going to quit stone-walling and all ‘fess up at once. I guess I’m wrong. Here’s the link to the Chenango Valley Pet Foods listing on the FDA’s website. As always, I’ve added it to the KVC webpage. Things have been pretty busy lately, but I hope to get back to […]
Royal Canin has announced a new recall, due to finding melamine derivatives in some batches. The foods are marketed under the Sensible Choice and Kasco trade names. The link has the batch dates and numbers. As always, the link has been added to the KVC webpage.
My daughter, Blair, will be graduating from college this weekend, so probably no blogging for a few days. Proud parents are off to Columbia, Missouri to see our eldest graduate with honors.
